The 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy Technologies and Bio Sustainability (ICRETBS 2026) is a hybrid-mode international conference scheduled for 25–26 July 2026 at MIT Muzaffarpur, India. It is jointly organized by the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, and Pharmacy at MIT Muzaffarpur, the IIChE-MIT Muzaffarpur Students Chapter, and the Centre for Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CEIE), Kolkata. Building on the achievements of its previous two editions, ICRETBS 2026 brings together researchers, academics, engineers, and industry professionals from across the globe to exchange scientific knowledge and technological innovations at the forefront of clean energy and biological sustainability. Spanning eight interdisciplinary tracks — from solar energy, hydrogen technologies, and waste management to biochemical engineering, green chemistry, and AI-driven process automation — ICRETBS 2026 offers a dynamic platform for cutting-edge research, meaningful collaboration, and cross-sector dialogue.
The Centre for Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CEIE) is an initiative of T3 Trust, a public charitable foundation established in 2023 in Kolkata by a group of like-minded individuals from industry and academia. Our purpose is to cultivate innovative education, research, training, and entrepreneurship. At CEIE, our mission is to empower individuals, communities, and institutions to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), headquartered in Kolkata, operates through 42 Regional Centres and 168 Student Chapters across India, including the IIChE-MIT Muzaffarpur Students Chapter, established in 2025. IIChE promotes the advancement of Chemical Engineering sciences, maintains professional standards, organizes seminars and conferences, publishes journals, and sponsors R&D projects for student members — making it a natural and valued co-organizer of ICRETBS 2026.
Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), Muzaffarpur, is a premier institution of technical education in eastern India, governed academically by Bihar Engineering University, Patna and administered by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar. Rooted in the vision of a newly independent nation, the foundation stone of MIT was laid by India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and the institute came into existence on 25th September 1954 - imparting education in Civil Engineering just seven years after independence. Guided by its timeless motto ॥ सर्वोपरि कर्मः ॥ - "Work is above everything else" - MIT stands as one of the oldest and most respected technical institutions in Ind ia. Nestled in the north-western part of Muzaffarpur city, the institute boasts a lush, sprawling 86-acre campus offering 9 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate programs, along with an undergraduate program in Pharmacy. Its latest academic addition, the Department of Chemical Engineering, was established in 2025, reflecting MIT's continued commitment to expanding technical education in emerging disciplines. Today, MIT thrives under the dynamic leadership of Principal Prof. M.K. Jha, who also serves as the Patron of ICRETBS 2026, reaffirming the institution's deep engagement with cutting-edge research and global academic collaboration.
